Warwick Castle Events in 2009
In addition to the many exhibits on show at Warwick Castle, there are also a wide range of events for tourists to witness.
Twice daily you can see the Trebuchet, the world’s largest siege machine, in action. This colossal catapult was used to fire large rocks and other material at the castle walls.
Each morning starting at 9.30 am, find out about Birds of Prey by visiting the Bird of Prey Experience and learn some handling techniques from an expert falconer. Afterwards watch the public display of eagles soaring around the castle ramparts and towers.
23rd – 31st May: Enjoy watching a medieval joust over the Whitsun half-term week.
3rd July sees stars from the West End smash musical Mamma Mia in action. They are backed by a rock band and full symphony orchestra and will be performing all the old-time Abba favourites such as Fernando and Super Trooper.
4th July is the time for lovers of classical music to enjoy an evening of entertainment and spectacular fireworks. The English National Orchestra will be performing works by many of the world’s greatest composers, including Stravinsky, Dvorak, Elgar, Tchaikovsky and many more.
Warwick Castle is reputed to be haunted and what better time to have some scary fun than around Halloween. The Haunted Castle event runs from 17th – 31st October.
28th – 29th November will be a good time to purchase some unusual festive gifts when the castle hosts the annual craft fair.
Festive celebrations: the castle is transformed into a winter wonderland for the festive celebrations. Enjoy the following events:-
Mediaeval five course Christmas Banquet available from 13th November until 23rd December,
as is the Festive Georgian themed Christmas with live entertainment.
The year closes with a New Years Eve Mediaeval Banquet.
